back to topPharmacokinetics

Because of its long half-life (approximately 7 hours), amprenavir can be administered twice daily. Amprenavir is metabolized by cytochrome P450 CYP3A and therefor the drug can have complex effects on other therapies.(106)

back to topDosing

Eight 150-mg tablets must be given twice daily, with or without food. (106)

back to topSide effects

In small studies, nausea, diarrhea, and headache were all reported, but were uncommon and typically mild. Rash, once thought to be common with amprenavir, can occur, but its incidence appears to be low. (106)
