Completion of the Full Program leads to the degree of "Master in Biomedical Sciences - Cell and Gene Therapy". This degree is obtained after minimally two years of study, with credits for the 14 classes, active participation in the seminars and successful defence of a Master thesis.
Credits are given by the co-ordinators on the basis of participation in the class and of a critical analysis of a scientific paper or of a research problem. Some classes will issue credits on the basis of a written test. Credits can be used in later years to obtain the degree.
Graduates of this Master Program in Biomedical Sciences can apply to "Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences". Successful application depends on the provision of a promoter, a PhD project and a PhD grant. Candidates submit a PhD. project description and confirm that the other requirements are fulfilled. During the PhD studies, they collect additional credits for published papers, medical research seminars, journal clubs, data discussions and laboratory activities. The PhD. degree in Medical Sciences can be obtained minimally two years after the Master degree upon submission and defence of a doctoral thesis.
